42 virtual reality headsets are helping staff to understand the experiences of dementia patients, supporting their training in immersive new ways. Patients are using the headsets for pain relief through relaxation. We’re even looking at ways the headsets can be used to support research into innovative surgery techniques.
Thanks to your support, a wide range of local research is taking place, in partnership with the Quadram Institute. Topics include the gut microbiome and antimicrobial resistance in childhood cancer survivors; the development of new therapies for chronic kidney disease patients; and the effect of diet in microbiota and host immune profile in colorectal cancer.
