Great coffee, great food & great impact


Since opening, the cafés have already raised an incredible £150,000 for our charity, with 10% of every purchase donated straight back to us. They are a fantastic way that we raise funds, and we are so grateful to everyone who visits to enjoy a snack and make a positive difference.

The charity cafés at N&N Hospital and CDC

Run by the brilliant team at Norfolk Cafes Ltd, led by Carl Mann, the cafés employ a dedicated team of 14 staff who serve freshly-made food daily across the two venues. The much‑loved mobile Trailer Café has been in place since 2022, and the newer Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) café opened in 2025.

Here’s what makes them special:

  • Locally roasted, premium coffee using Café Cuidado by Drury, a blend they’ve trusted for over 15 years.
  • Homemade favourites prepared daily: sandwiches, scones, sausage rolls, pastries and seasonal soups and salads.
  • Gluten‑free and vegan choices available every day.
  • Delicious cakes including exclusive brownie products from Macarons and More.
  • New for Spring 2026: Norfolk jacket potatoes at the Trailer Café.

Both cafés are proud to champion local suppliers including Mr Fruity, Steele Fine Foods, Harveys Butchers, Caterfreeze and Macarons and More, supporting local businesses while serving quality food.

The Mardle at Cromer Hospital


The Mardle Café was opened in 2022 in a purpose-built addition to the Cromer Hospital, where you can visit without needing to go into the main Hospital building. It was named by Sharon Grimwood, receptionist in the Cromer Minor Injuries Unit, who won our naming competition. In Norfolk dialect, a ‘mardle’ is a friendly chat.

 

The café is run by the wonderful team from Bespoke Food Group Ltd. It’s set in a fantastic bistro café environment, where patients and visitors can sit, enjoy fresh food, a lovely hot drink and a mardle with friends and family.

The café menu is currently being updated and will be relaunched soon.
